Aromatherapy can help heal yourself and your family.
Aromatherapy is the use of pure essential oils to enhance wellbeing of the body, mind and spirit. As pure essential oils are the life force or ‘qi’ of plants they represent life itself: working in close harmony with people and planet alike. Pure essential oils are extracted from different parts of the plant like flowers (when they are at their peak), leaves, grass, stalks, berries, bark, gum and roots by various methods of extraction; the most common being steam distillation.

It is via our sense of smell (emotional) and absorption of essential oils through the skin (physical) that Aromatherapy relaxes, refreshes, uplifts, heals and helps to improve and maintain general well being. Learning about Aromatherapy need no longer be surrounded in mystery.

There are many fragrant ways you could use Aromatherapy essential oils in your daily life to enhance the quality of your life as well as that of your family and friends.Learning about Aromatherapy need no longer be surrounded in mystery. Use essential oils blended in carrier oils for massaging yourself or your baby or to treat aches and pains. Mix them with water for hot and cold compresses, steam inhalations, baths, jacuzzis, saunas and as room spritzers. Use them on their own in vaporisers, laundry, wood fires, on a tissue, treating insect bites, vacuum cleaners, potpourri etc.

Once you have essential oils in your life, you will want them forever!

Massage or ‘hands on’ healing with essential oils blended in carrier oils (Jojoba, Sweet Almond, Sesame etc.) stimulates the millions of nerve endings in the skin, helping the body to release tension in the stressed muscles and tissues. At the same time positive chemical signals flow through the body and mind, replacing the negative signals; this releases the natural endorphins and other ‘feel good’ painkillers and mood elevators.

Use 3-5 drops of essential oil for every 10ml of carrier oil.

Ameretat has made it easy by giving you a choice of 5 pre-blended ready to use Body Massage Oil Blends
De Stress, Jet Lag, Muscle Energizer, Relaxation and Uplifting Body Massage Oil Blends.

Baby’s massage: Blend 1 drop of essential oil in 10ml of Sesame Oil, or massage baby with Ameretat’s pre blended ready to use Baby Oil after baby’s bath.

Baby massage has many benefits for your baby: reduction in anxiety, improved sleep pattern, strengthening of the immune system, improved lung function, muscle relaxation, increase in blood and lymphatic circulation and most important of all – helping you to bond with your baby.

Please remember ‘little is more’ in Aromatherapy.

Aroma Baths
can help you unwind as well as act as a pick-me-up. Add 6-8 drops of essential oils or Ameretat’s Relaxation or De Stress essential oil synergy to a full drawn bath and swish the water well. Support your head on a bath pillow or a rolled towel, close your eyes, inhale and enjoy a good soak. Candles, soft music and sipping on green tea will add to the mood.

Aroma Showers.
Having a night out after a hard exhausting day at work? Whilst showering, rub yourself with a drop of Ameretat’s Relaxation essential oil synergy on your sponge and dispense a drop or two on the floor. The beautiful aroma will revive you physically and emotionally.

Foot and Hand Baths can also be enjoyed by adding 3 drops of essential oil to a bowl of warm water and soaking hands or feet.

Hot and Cold Compresses
are effective ways to relieve inflammation and swellings by adding 4-5 drops of essential oil to a bowl of hot or ice cold water. Hot compresses are for older injuries, chronic muscle pain, backaches and painful menstruation. Cold compresses are for acute injuries like sprains, bruising and headaches.

Steam Inhalation can help clear colds, chest infections and sinuses. Add essential oils to a bowl of hot water and cover head with a towel (like a tent) and breathe deeply. To clear colds and chest infections add up to 4 drops of Ameretat’s Breathe Easy essential oil synergy to a bowl of hot water or just 2 drops for a gentle relaxing effect on the air passages.

For baby’s coughs and sniffles use 1 drop of Ameretat’s Congestion Free essential oil synergy to a bowl of hot water and place under baby’s cot at night.

Vaporising helps create any mood in your home or workplace. Add 6-8 drops of essential oils to the electric vaporizer bowl and enjoy the natural healing aromatic vapors.

Ameretat De Stress or Relaxation Essential Oil Synergy will help you wind down and relax after a stressful day.
Ameretat Productivity and Focus Essential Oil Synergy is recommended during test times.

Aroma Spritzer. Create a natural room spray (without any chemicals/alcohols) by adding 8-10 drops of essential oils to a spritzer bottle filled with clean filter water. Shake well to disperse oil.

Laundry, Potpourri, Vacuum Cleaners, Log fires, etc. Add 5 drops of Ameretat Laundry essential oil synergy to the softener compartment of your washing machine to naturally scent and freshen your wash.
Freshen potpourris by adding essential oils of your choice. Add 5 drops of Lemon essential oil to the dust bag in your vacuum cleaner to take care of dust mites.
Add 1 drop of Pine or Sandalwood essential oil on a log (one log per fire is enough); can be done in advance as the essential oil retains its aroma for a long time.

GUIDELINES FOR THE SAFE USE OF ESSENTIAL OILS:

• Essential oils are not recommended for oral use.
• Always store essential oil bottles out of reach of children.
• Never apply undiluted essential oil to the skin; dilute essential oils in a carrier oil before applying to the skin to prevent skin irritations; though Lavender can be applied undiluted to burns, cuts and insect bites.
• Use extreme care not to get the essential oils (even in diluted form) or vapour in the eyes. If this occurs, flush the eyes immediately with cool water.
• Many essential oils should not be used during pregnancy due to the stimulating effect they have on the uterus and urinary system.
• When using citrus, phototoxic essential oils, you should avoid going out into the sun, sunbathing, sauna and steam rooms and solariums for at least 4 hours.
• Essential oils should be stored in amber or cobalt blue glass bottles in a cool dark place to avoid deterioration by light and heat. Keep the bottles tightly shut to prevent evaporation and oxidisation.

How to carry out a SKIN SENSITIVITY PATCH TEST?
A Sensitivity Patch test is recommended before using new products - especially if one has sensitive skin, food allergies, hay fever, eczema or asthma.

Apply a small amount of the product behind the ear or on the inside of the elbow; leave on for at least an hour. If there is an adverse reaction like redness, swelling or itching DO NOT use the product; remove immediately with a wet tissue and rinse well.
